PARENT/PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
Oregon Triple Impact has implemented the following Player and Parent Code of Conduct that are considered binding regarding player, and more importantly, parent/family member behavior.
All Players and Parents (or legal guardians) must read, understand and sign this form prior to the player’s full participation on an Oregon Triple Basketball Club Team.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
• I will show respect to all coaches, game officials, parents, teammates and opposing players at all times, and will never act in a manner that is disrespectful to them or my team.
• I will demonstrate good sportsmanship regardless of the score or situation by acting in a positive manner towards coaches, officials and other players.
• I will help clean our bench area after games.
• I will display good sportsmanship and a commitment to all teams at all times.
• I have read and will also abide by the 10 rules for players in the Expectations document.
Parent’s Code of Conduct (or Legal Guardian):
• I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
• I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such as booing and taunting or using profane language or gestures.
• I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of athletes.
• I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect at all times regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
• I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
• I will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the gymnasium, but will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed-upon time and place.
• I will make my registration fee(s) on time and understand the late policy. There are no refunds, as all payments made are final!
• I have read and will also abide by the 5 rules for parents in the Expectations document.
OREGON TRIPLE PLAYER/PARENT EXPECTATIONS
PLAYER EXPECTATIONS - THE 10
1.All athletes should maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, as being a student athlete requires you to be a student first, then an athlete.
2.Arrive at practice on time and be ready to start at the designated time.
3. Goofing off during practice is disruptive and unfair to your teammates and coaches - if you persist, be prepared for an appropriate penalty to be decided by your coach (ex., pushups, running, being asked to sit out or leave practice, etc)
4. No players should yell at or demean any other player at any time. Instead, you should be the loudest cheerleader possible when you are not involved in a drill or playing a game and encouraging players.
5. MISSED PRACTICES/UNEXCUSED ABSENCES: If missing practices becomes an issue, playing time will be impacted per the decision of the coach.
6. EXCUSED ABSENCES: Illness, a family emergency, or a school function will be considered an excused absence, if communicated a reasonable time (at least 2 or
3 hours) prior to the practice, scrimmage, or game, to the coach or team managers.
7. TRAVEL: All players should travel and stay with the team while we are out of town unless communicated to the director, head coach, or team mom.
8. Attitude: Come to practice and games every day with a positive attitude and mindset ready to work hard and get better, no matter what happened before you came to practice.
9. Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Use: No player should engage in any form of drug, alcohol, or tobacco use, as you are a minor!
10. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO FIGHTING OF ANY KIND IN THE OREGON TRIPLE BASKETBALL CLUB.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS/FAMILY MEMBERS
1. Please have your child on time to the designated destination at the designated time.
2. If you have a concern about your child’s development, playing time, etc., please NEVER come up to a coach during, before or right after a game or a practice and demand to talk to them right then. Please call or email them the following day to make an appointment to talk outside of the gym and away from other team members.
3. Parents will be allowed to watch practices, but please no communication with your child while practice is on – let the coaches coach.
4. Please cheer for all the Oregon Triple players because it makes for a pleasant experience all around. Refrain from using improper language towards refs and opposing fans/players.
5. There are no refunds to registration fees as payments are final.
